Board Member Steps Up to Spearhead Magnified Giving’s First 5K

March 13, 2024 | Written by Branden Waggoner

In the world of giving, it’s often the personal stories that spark the biggest movements. Meet Ryan Nicley, the force behind Magnified Giving’s first-ever “Magnify Your 5K Run/Walk” happening on April 13th, 2024. For Ryan and his family, this event isn’t just about running; it’s about coming together, giving back, and making a difference.

The idea for the 5K came from a simple desire to do something meaningful as a family. Ryan, along with his wife Mary and their kids Jack and Addi, wanted to blend their love for running with their passion for supporting causes that matter. “Combining something we love with supporting a worthy cause feels like a triple win - for us, the cause, and the beneficiaries,” Ryan shared with us. Together, they hope to turn this event into a yearly celebration of community and giving.

For the Nicley family, organizing the 5K isn’t just a project; it’s a chance to pass on values of kindness and generosity. Inspired by Magnified Giving’s mission to educate and engage youth in philanthropy, they saw an opportunity to involve Jack and Addi in something meaningful. “It's about breaking the cycle and fostering a culture of giving from a young age,” explains Ryan. By getting the whole family involved, they hope to show Jack and Addi the power of service and compassion.

Magnified Giving’s mission hits close to home for the Nicley family. As advocates for youth empowerment and community enrichment, they see the 5K as a way to extend Magnified Giving’s impact beyond the classroom. Through events like the 5K, Magnified Giving supports over 130 Youth Philanthropy Programs, giving young people the tools to make a real difference in their communities.

As we gear up for the inaugural Magnify Your 5K, the story behind its conception embodies the very spirit of Magnified Giving. It's a tale of dedication and community spirit, led by none other than our board member, Ryan Nicley, and his family. Their commitment underscores the essence of philanthropy - the willingness to give not just financial resources but also time, talent, and treasure. We are deeply grateful for their enthusiasm and initiative, and we're inspired by the countless individuals like them who are rallying behind our cause. Together, we're demonstrating the power of collective action and the transformative impact it can have on our community.

So mark your calendars for April 13th and join us at Kestrel Point in Winton Woods for a day of family-friendly fun and philanthropy. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual walker, your participation amplifies the voice of youth philanthropy and supports local charities. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of something special.
