June 21, 2022 | Written by Rachel Plum and Lindsey Barta

Roger Grein Spirit of Philanthropy Recognition seeks to honor youth who embody the generous and philanthropic spirit of our founder, Mr. Roger Grein. Roger has devoted his life to serving and caring for others, and we wish to honor him by celebrating rising young philanthropists in his name. You can learn more about Roger’s life and legacy here.

Mr. Roger Grein, Founder of Magnified Giving.

The award is given to youth who can demonstrate that they actively engaged in service during the school year they participated in Magnified Giving, describe how they grew and changed through the experience, and can articulate their plan for staying engaged in philanthropy and service throughout their lives. This year, Magnified Giving is pleased to honor 19 students with the Roger Grein Spirit of Philanthropy Award for their dedication to serving their communities.

Mr. Grein expressed pride and gratitude for the recipients, saying, “These students have done exceptional work for their communities. They are an amazing representation of exactly what Magnified Giving is all about. I am so grateful for all of their hard work and dedication to the program and to philanthropy. It warms my heart to see young people stepping up and giving back.”

Additionally, for the first time ever, Magnified Giving is thrilled to award the highest scoring honoree in grades 10-12 with the Roger Grein Legacy Scholarship, a scholarship worth $2,500 toward post-secondary education, certification courses, personal development experiences, or other continuing education opportunities. This year, we are ecstatic to congratulate Alyssa Vis of Perry High School on receiving the Roger Grein Legacy Scholarship. Read about Alyssa here.

We are excited to introduce the recipients of 2022 Roger Grein Spirit of Philanthropy below. Congratulations to these amazing youth!
