Making Waves In The Community And In The Pool - The Ripple Effect Of Your Gifts!

November 22, 2021 | Written by Lindsey Barta

Our name, Magnified Giving, comes from the vision that those gifts that we receive from donors ultimately flow to community nonprofits, but the gift is magnified because we engage students in the grant-making process, empowering them with the knowledge and skills they need to be lifelong philanthropists. This year alone, our donors helped us grant critical funds to 99 community nonprofits through the hands of students. One of these grant recipients, Project Connect, shared with us how they were able to use the $1,000 grant they received from students at Aiken High School - New Tech.

Rhonda Lewis, Program Enrichment and Development Specialist at Project Connect, explains how they used the grant:Funds from Magnified Giving were used to offset the cost of swimming lessons provided to Project Connect summer campers. Swimming lessons are a much needed, and as you can see, an enjoyable life skill for our students. Swimming lessons were provided by SwimSafe Cincinnati and took place at Ziegler Pool. We can't express how much we appreciate Roger Grein's vision for giving, and thank you for the work you do and the support that Magnified Giving provides to the community.”

Associate Director at Magnified Giving, Lindsey Barta, says, “Nothing shows the ‘ripple effect’ of the Magnified Giving process more beautifully than these joyful photos of children learning an important life skill! This laughter and impact is made possible by our supporters’ generosity and the passion of our students to support strong community nonprofits.”
