What is the mission of your organization?

We provide financial, educational and community resource to over 6,000 children in the greater Dayton area. Our focus is on children who are abused, neglected, in foster care or who are in need of community resource. We are a passionate group of volunteers- we have no paid staff. Monies donated go into our programming. For further information on FLOC, please check out our website at If selected to receive this generous grant, we would apply these monies to our newly developed anti-bullying program.

Any other comments you would like to share with the students who might be reviewing your request?

We are a very hands on organization. We work very closely with the children and families that we serve. This past Christmas, we were able to present holiday joy to 2261 children in the greater Dayton area. We have tutors, mentors, a skill center for academic aide, we send out birthday gifts to children in foster care, we grant a wish on a monthly basis for selected requests from children in need. We have a beautiful Boutique in downtown Dayton for children who may not be able to attend their proms/homecoming due to expense. The youth who would like to shop at our Boutique or Tools for School (we have thousands of school supplies) must have a letter of recommendation from an adult, and a letter of intent; we honor what that student has done- whether it's community service or academic success, whatever we can celebrate. For further input, please check out our website.
